God says “I am Beautiful”

Could you conform the desires of my soul to see with a clearer vision the beauty of who you are?

All of the landmarks and beautiful corners of creation are a dim reflection of You.
May my own thoughts go higher, deeper and more meaningful, when I see them

Is Your beauty
…When I see the calming hue of the sunset? Is your beauty in the truth that Your peaceful presence is never clouded or far away from me?

…Or is it when I hear the woods crackling in the early morning? While it can be refreshing, is Your strength in my weakness to be more inspiring than that?

…Maybe its when I stare at the deep night sky on a clear cool night?  I can be stuck with how imaginative you are!

Oh Invisible God, may the eyes of my heart see what Scripture means when it says that you are beautiful.

I am shamefully simple as I’ve relied upon my own eyes. I’ve splashed in the shallow end of who you are as a God of love grace and forgiveness.

I can see the deeper parables and accounts of your power, patience and presence.
But show me your beauty in the Exodus of Israel.
Show me your beauty in the father of the Prodigal Son.
Show me your beauty in the events on Pentecost.

Resolved,
I will cultivate my worship of you by developing deeper thoughts of all your attributes. Not in the light of how they affect me. But how they reflect You.
That I will cultivate my worship of you by developing a deeper, soulful, meditation from what your Word reveals. Not in light of what You do. But who You are.

Lord, I desire this in order to enjoy your beauty and to glorify your name.
